This monoclonal antibody was generated against HSE-2 cells and recognizes human Natural Killer (NK) cells.
Natural killer cells, large granular lymphocytes (LGL) that develop in the bone marrow, are a critical component of the innate immune system that also play a role in the body’s response to cancer and viral infections. NK cells function by releasing granzymes such as perforin to mediate cytotoxicity through apoptosis or cell lysis. The H25 antibody has been shown to react with a subset of peripheral mononuclear cells with natural killer and killer cell activity as well as all T cell lines tested, but weakly or not at all with cell lines of B, myeloid or erythroid origin.
