This mouse monoclonal antibody was generated against plant Profilin (PRF4) and reacts strongly with Arabidopsis reproductive profilins PRF4 and PRF5.
Profilin is a low-molecular weight, actin monomer-binding protein that regulates the organization of actin cytoskeleton in eukaryotes. Profilin promotes actinassembly at the barbed end of filaments and causes depolymerization of filaments by binding and sequestering G-actin. Profilin also interacts with several other ligands, such as membrane polyphospho-inositides, short proline rich stretches in proteins, and the Arp 2/3 complex.
