An alkyne-reactive, sodium dithionite (Na2S2O4) cleavable biotinylation reagent.
Highlights:
Diazo Biotin-Azide allows the capture of alkyne-tagged biomolecules via a copper-catalyzed click reaction. This reaction possesses extreme selectivity, such that the complementary reagents can form covalent bonds within richly functionalized biological systems, and, in some cases, living organisms. Biotinylated protein targets are selectively captured through conventional affinity purification protocols that exploit the biotin - streptavidin interaction. Captured protein targets can be release of under mild conditions with 50 mM sodium dithionite solution, and identified by mass spectrometry, ELISA, dot blot, or Western blot applications.
