An alkyne-activated, water-soluble Cy7 dye for chemoselective labeling and detection of azide-tagged molecules.
Cy7 alkyne is well suited for the detection of metabolically or enzymatically azide-labeled biopolymers. The terminal alkyne group reacts with an azide to produce a stable triazole, also referred to as the Cu(I)‐catalyzed click reaction. This reaction possesses extreme selectivity and biocompatibility, such that the complimentary reagents can form covalent bonds within richly functionalized biological systems, and, in some cases, living organisms.
