This IgG mouse monoclonal (17D5) was generated against recombinant LacI+NLS+6His and is reactive against E. coli LacI.
Highlights:
Lac repressor (LacI) is a DNA-binding protein which inhibits the expression of genes coding for proteins involved in the metabolism of lactose in bacteria. In the absence of lactose, the Lac repressor binds to the operator and keeps RNA polymerase from transcribing the Lac genes.

Western Blot
Reactivity is detected in a crude protein extract (2 ug) of E. coli expressing recombinant LacI+NLS+His6 protein, crude extracts (20 ug) from two stains of E. coli (MC1693, SK1029) expressing WT LacI at different levels, and extracts (30 ug) from three independent Arabidopsis thaliana (At) plant lines (#1, #2, #3) expressing recombinant LacI+NLS+His6. No reactivity is detected in the E. coli LacI deficient strain MC1061.
