Alkynyl 7-Dehydrocholesterol

Alkynyl 7-dehydrocholesterol, the biosynthetic precursor to cholesterol, is a surrogate for the endogenous sterol. The alkyne moiety allows the compound to be reacted with a fluorescent or biotin label via copper-catalyzed click chemistry for visualization and/or enrichment techniques.
