This mouse IgG1 monoclonal antibody [1E6] was generated against an E. coli produced fusion protein and is specific for Zaire ebolavirus nucleoprotein (NP).
Highlights
Ebola virus (EBOV), or sometimes referred to as Zaire ebolavirus is one of the five identified Ebola virus species. Zaire ebolavirus is a virological taxon that comes from the genus, Ebolvarius, family Filoviridae and the order Mononegavirales. Ebola, often fatal has been shown to cause hemorrhagic fever in humans and other mammals including monkeys and chimpanzees. The nucleoprotein (NP) encapsidates the genome, protecting it from nucleases. The encapsidated genomic RNA is termed the nucleocapsid and serves as template for transcription and replication. During replication, encapsidation by NP is coupled to RNA synthesis and all replicative products are resistant to nucleases.
