This rabbit polyclonal antibody was generated against N-terminal 6xHis-tagged full length protein and is specific for Saccharomyces cerevisiae eukaryotic translation elongation factor 3 (eEF3).
Highlights
Elongation factors are proteins used in translation or protein synthesis during the process of cell cycle and elongation in some cells. In the ribosome, they facilitate translational elongation, from the formation of the first peptide bond to the formation of the last one. Specifically, elongation factor 3 is required for the ATP-dependent release of deacylated tRNA from the ribosomal E-site during protein biosynthesis. eEF3 stimulates the eEF1A-dependent binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the ribosomal A-site, which has reduced affinity for tRNA as long as the E-site is occupied.
