Anti-Avian Thymic Hormone (ATH) [4A6] Antibody

This mouse IgG1k monoclonal antibody was generated against avian thymic hormone (ATH) paravalbumin and is specific for chicken ATH.

Highlights:

  • Reacts with chicken ATH
  • Does not cross-react with chicken tissue extracts or commercially available parvalbumins
  • Suitable for ELISA, IC-ELISA, Western Blot, Immunostaining and Immunofluorescence applications

ATH consists of 108 residues (11.7 kDa) thus placing this protein, based on its size, at the intersection between the a and ß lineages (it is a ß-PV). ATH is 82% identical to ß- parvalbumin from Graptemys geographica and is produced primarily in epithelial cells in the thymic cortex and in the eyes of chickens. ATH has been shown to promote maturation in bone marrow cells and is involved in binding to calcium ions.
