This rat IgG monoclonal antibody was generated against a bacterial fusion protein corresponding to mouse ING2, and is specific for mouse ING2.
ING2 is a member of the inhibitor of growth (ING) family and has been shown to modulate the activity of histone acetyltransferase (HAT) and histone deacetylase (HDAC) complexes involved in DNA repair and apoptosis. ING2 contains a plant homeodomain (PHD) finger, a motif common to many chromatin-regulatory proteins. There is evidence that ING2 activates p53 and p53-dependent apoptotic pathways.
