This mouse monoclonal antibody was generated against a phosphoprotein constituent of egg white and is recognizes ovalbumin.
Recombinant versions available from our sister company, Absolute Antibody:
Ovalbumin is the main protein present in egg white, and it may function as a storage protein. It is a secreted glycoprotein of 385 amino acids. Ovalbumin is useful in many research settings such as proteomics, where it is commonly used as a molecular weight marker for calibrating electrophoresis gels, or in immunology to stimulate an allergic reaction in test subjects. Because it is available in large quantities, Ovalbumin is advantageous in general studies of protein structure and properties.

Hybridomas were produced as follows: Three Balb/cj female mice were immunized intraperitoneally on day 0, 14, and 21 with 100 ug OVA in Complete or Incomplete Freunds Adjuvant. Splenocytes from one mouse were fused with SP2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells on approximately day 65. Clones were screened on OVA-coated ELISA plates and positives subcloned by limiting dilution.
