The research at Dr. Urban’s lab is focused on analyzing replication mechanisms of hepatitis B (HBV) and D (HDV) viruses. The group is working on developing new drugs and promising substances against these pathogens (such as Myrcludex B), as well as developing new testing systems for identifying further substances from compound libraries, which have already contributed towards the identification of new antiviral substances.
