Douglas Menke, PhD

Research at Dr. Menke’s lab focuses on understanding the exact role of genes controlling limb growth and patterning, and how their expression is regulated or their regulation changes contributed to the different morphologies (such as changes in size, adaptation to running, swimming, hopping, digging, or flying). The team uses genomics and functional assays in mice and lizards to discover key cis-regulatory elements impacting the expression of these genes important for development.
