Jonathan Eggenschwiler, PhD

Research at Dr. Eggenschwiler is focused on studying the mechanisms controlling tissue patterning during mammalian embryonic development (such as novel regulators of the Hedgehog signaling pathway acting within the developing central nervous system, or regulation of Nodal signaling in the control of patterning along the left-right axis of the mouse embryo). The team uses genetic approaches in mouse models to identify signaling pathways and understand the specific functions of these regulatory elements at the cellular and biochemical levels.
