The Kimball lab has developed a method for using monoclonal antibodies to puromycin to directly monitor translation using standard immunochemical techniques. Pulse-chase analysis using puromycin immunodetection is an advantageous alternative to radioactive amino acid labeling, allowing for the direct evaluation of translation directly using standard immunochemical methods.
In addition to the puromycin monoclonal antibody, the Kimball Lab has also developed a variety of eukaryotic initiation factor (eIF) monoclonal antibodies.
