The Laurie lab focuses on the epithelial-specific prosecretory mitogen â??lacritin'. They discovered lacritin out of a screen for factors capable of stimulating tear protein secretion by lacrimal acinar cells. They focus on three research areas in lacritin including epithelial renewal, secretion & homeostasis.
