The Kay laboratory is interested in rapid methods to detect subclinical laser ablation to the retina or retinal damage. They are working on two different approaches; 1. They generated monoclonal antibodies to short peptides of four retinal proteins that have been identified in serum and 2. Formatting of an immunoassay where engineered scFv or scFv-Fc antibodies are incorporated into a biosensor platform.
