Studies in the Gutova laboratory are focused on the development of a novel neural stem cell lines and stem cell-mediated therapies for diseases and disorders of the central nervous system (CNS). Currently, they are working on the development of therapies for pediatric brain tumors and traumatic brain injury. However, neural stem cells could ultimately be a tool for development of new therapies for any CNS cancer or to other disorders such as neonatal ischemia, brain damage, Parkinson's disease, and stroke.
