The Nicholas lab is interested in P2Y Receptors. Specificially the regulation of P2Y Receptor signaling in platelets and signaling mechanisms of P2Y receptors. They are also interested in antibiotic resistance inNeisseria gonorrhoeae; 1) Mechanisms of chromosomally mediated antibiotic resistance. 2) Biological fitness consequences of acquiring resistance to cephalosporins and compensatory mutations that increase fitness. 3) Development of inhibitors of lipid A biosynthesis for treatment of N. gonorrhoeae.
