This mouse IgG1 monoclonal antibody was generated from a BALB/cJ mouse primed with pristane and immunized with full-length soluble recombinant human Argonaute-2 (Ago2). This antibody is able to immunoprecipitate human Ago2, as well as Ago1, Ago3, and Ago4 (reference 1).
Highlights:
Argonaute (Ago) proteins are the key components that binds siRNA and micrRNA in the RNA induced silencing complex (RISC) complex with molecular masses of approximately 100 kDa and containing PAZ and PIWI domains. Four of these, Ago1 to Ago4, have been demonstrated to associate with miRNAs in humans, however, only Ago2 has been demonstrated to possess the activity of siRNA-guided mRNA cleavage.
