GABAT1 aminotransferase enzyme from Veratrum californicum that is able to transfer an amino group from Γ-aminobutyric acid to the compound 22-Hydroxycholesterol-26[25(S)]-al to form 22(R)-Hydroxy-26[25(S)]-aminocholesterol. This enzyme functions in steroid alkaloid biosynthesis.
