This Myok9 Myoblast Cell Line is a normal genotyped, canine myoblast extracted from adult golden retriever/Labrador retriever mix dog vastus lateralis muscle. The cells have been immortalized with SV40 long T antigen.
Highlights:
Myogenesis is the process of skeletal muscular tissue formation, particularly during an early embryo development during which myoblasts can either proliferate or differentiate into a myotube. Myoblasts are thus early descentants of muscle cells. Myok9, a canine myoblast cell line, was extracted from a normal genotyped adult canine (mixed breed) and could be useful for researchers studying or evaluating pottential future therapies for skeletal muscle disorders (such as Duschenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), myotubular myopathy, and others).
