Anti-Chibby [8-2] Antibody

This mouse IgG2a monoclonal antibody was generated against human Chibby1 (Cby1, aa1-63) and recognizes Cby1 (aa49-63).

Highlights:

  • Detects both human and mouse Cby proteins and is also effective in detecting endogenous protein (possibly recognizes Cby homologues in other vertebrate species such as Xenopus and zebrafish)
  • Reliably labels the base of primary cilia in cell lines and various tissues as well as multicilia of the lung, trachea, and brain ventricles
  • May be useful as a marker for centrosomes and basal bodies Cby function, Wnt signaling, and ciliogenesis
  • Suitable for Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence and Western Blot applications

The Wnt/b-catenin signaling pathway plays a very important role in various cellular processes, such as embryonic development and adult homeostasis, including cell proliferation, cell fate decisions, and stem cell maintenance. Chibby1 (Cby1) was originally identified as an antagonist of the Wnt/b-catenin signaling pathway. It physically interacts with the key co-activator b-catenin and inhibits b-catenin-mediated transcriptional activation.
