This mouse IgM Kappa monoclonal antibody was generated from spleens of ApoE KO mice fed a high-fat Western diet (for 7 months), and is specific to oxidized phospholipids POVPC and PGPC.
Highlights:
Recombinant versions available from our sister company, Absolute Antibody:
Phospholipids are a crucial component of all cell membranes. They are composed of a hydrophilic "head" containing a phosphate group and two hydrophobic "tails" derived from fatty acids, joined by an alcohol residue. Their application can be found to be very useful in nanotechnology and material science, as purified phospholipids can be produced commercially. Oxidized phospholipids (such as the derivatives POVPC and PGPC) play an important role in cardiovascular diseases, as well as inflammation.
