This H3K9me3 rabbit polyclonal antibody was raised against a modified branched peptide and specifically recognizes histone H3 tri-methylated on lysine 9 (H3K9me3).
Highlights:
H3K9me3 indicates the addition of a trimethyl group to the 9th lysine residue on the histone H3 protein, and is often associated with heterochromatin. This post-translation modification is located on the amino (N) terminal charged tails of the histone and plays an important role in many biological processes, such as in embryonic stem cells at the onset of organogenesis.
