Recombinant HuD/ELAVL4 neoantigen expressed in E. coli and purified via affinity chromatography.
Highlights:
ELAV-like protein 4 (ELAVL4, HuD) plays a role in neuron-specific RNA processing and protects CDKN1A mRNA from decay by binding to its 3'-UTR (By similarity). HuD binds to AU-rich sequences (AREs) of target mRNAs, including VEGF and FOS mRNA. HuD was originaly discovered as the paraneoplastic antigen expressed in neuroendocrine tumors. Recombinant HuD was first used to assay the presence of anti-Hu antibodies and thereby diagnose the presence of small cell lung cancer and subacute sensory neuronopathy. In normal cells , it functions to regulate gene expression and the recombinant protein has been used to identify regualtory elements in mRNA.
