Mouse Macrophage Cell Line (AA9) for PRRSV Propagation

Sialoadhesin expressing macrophage cell-line [AA9] for in-vitro propagation of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV).

Highlights:

  • Ideal cell line for the propagation of PRRSV in vitro
  • Transfected with porcine sialoadhesin - allows for permissive PRRSV replication

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) also known has blue-ear pig syndrome is an small enveloped RNA virus that causes disease in pigs. The virus effects reproductive failure in breeding stock and respiratory tract illness in young pigs. Sialoadhesin is the cell-surface protein on porcine alveolar macrophages (PAMs) that mediates the internalization of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV).
