These mouse monoclonal antibodies were generated against immunopurified calf thymus ATPaseA (also known as SMARCAL1) and recognize the c-terminus of bovine and human ATPaseA homologs.
Highlights:
ATPaseA (also known as SMARCAL1) is a DNA dependent ATPase, which hydrolyzes ATP in the presence of DNA. This class of proteins has been given the term helicase, because they use the energy of ATP hydrolysis to unwind DNA and allow for replication. The eukaryotic ATPase recognized by this monoclonal antibody shares some homology with the ATPase protein found in T4 bacteriophages. As such, the antibody recognizes some of the same epitopes on the T4 ATPase as on the eukaryotic ATPase.
