A trifunctional biotinylation reagent that can be used for both visualization and affinity purification of alkyne-tagged molecules.
Highlights:
TAMRA-Azide-Biotin incorporates an azido group to enable click chemistry-mediated labeling of alkyne-tagged proteins. A hydophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media and reduces steric hindrance when binding to streptavidin molecules. The biotin enables efficient protein enrichment. Finally, a carboxytetramethylrhodamine (TAMRA) fluorophore, which remains attached to the protein after elution from streptavidin resin, serves the purpose of sensitive detection of tagged proteins.
