This lentivirus expresses human Pax6 under the control of the CMV promoter.
Pax6 (paired box 6) is a transcriptional regulator with paired box domain and homeo box domain. Pax6 is expressed in the developing nervous system, and in developing eyes. Mutations in this gene are known to cause ocular disorders such as aniridia and Peter's anomaly.
