Recombinant MTB pepA protein, produced from E. coli.
MTB pepA, also known as Mtb32a belongs to the serine protease family of proteins. It is conserved across M. tuberculosis, M. leprae, M. bovis and M. avium paratuberculosis. It was identified in culture supernatant of MTB H37Rv strain and is predicted to be essential for in vivo survival and pathogenicity in Mycobacterium. This can serve as a candidate target for TB therapies.
