Dr. Bandyopadhyay's laboratory is interested in understanding the molecular mechanism regulating the development of bone and joint cartilage. Several skeletal disorders result from improper development and/or maintenance of bone and articular cartilage such as osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. They study the molecular basis of these disorders using transgenic mouse and chicken as model systems.
